Hello All!
Today was a long day, we ran about 19 miles and 13 of it was through the dunes! I'm not sure why they call them sand dunes, they should be called sand mountains. It was actually a lot harder than I expected for day one. Tomorrow we have about 23 miles, however today was the hardest dune day for the week. I'm very happy about that! The food so far has been pretty good. I'm anxious to eat more food that way my pack will get lighter and lighter. I started the race with about 20 lbs of weight in my pack.
The dunes and the views out here are absolutely beautiful. I'm taking some good photos/videos. So far I only 1 small blister on the end of my toe, so not that bad. Tonight I am having a dried meal and a drink mix. Delicious. Ha, what I would do for a mountain dew or coke.
(he wrote more but thats only for me;))
Until next email...
Love,
alex
